Become a better home cook
Welcome to my blog!๐
This year after traveling to Italy, France and UK, I decided to learn how to cook better. I know how to cook the basics like scrambled eggs, sandwiches, and with A LOT of effort I can follow recipe step by step, but cooking a great dish takes so long that I just barely cook once or twice a week.
When I cook for friends and family, I am always told that my food is great, "best I've ever had"! In retrospect, I think my friends are just too nice to hurt my feelings.

I will share my experiences to become a better home cook and share recipes along the way. Expect diverse meals, I want to dive deep into my Mexican, Spanish roots and cook a lot of Mexican, Spanish food.
My SO is Iranian, so if you have never had Iranian food, you must definitely try it and I hope to convince you with the yummy Iranian recipes. Here it is my first attempt to create a crispy rice (tahdig):

How will I get better?
I thought about quitting my job and going to culinary school. While I LOVE food, I don't know if I will love cooking all the time just yet.
To begin with I will focus on the basic cooking techniques and learn a few cooking skills. Why? I did blue apron a few years ago recipes claim to only take 20 minutes, but I am such a slow chopper it took double the time and cleaning time was not included... No more to 40 minutes of chopping, chop faster, YAS I must learn!
Ok I have to leave to buy a few ingredients at the persian store. My SO is sick and wants some Persian soup I've never cooked before.
